NightCrew Property Services didn't begin with a business plan or a dream of building a big company. It began during a major turning point in my life.
After spending two years fighting a brain tumor and another year recovering, I had to figure out how to support my family without returning to the same physically demanding construction work I had done for most of my life. I had a pickup truck, I knew how to work, and I was willing to start wherever I could. So I posted a local Craigslist ad offering to haul away unwanted items.
What started as a way to make ends meet became something I genuinely enjoyed. I got to meet people in my own community and hear the stories behind the things they were finally ready to let go of. Sometimes we were clearing out a home after a move or making space in a garage. Other times, somebody just needed that old furniture gone so there was finally room for the shiny new golf cart.
But one part of the job became especially important to our family. We realized pretty quickly that not everything people wanted removed was actually trash. Furniture, appliances and household items that one family no longer needed could still mean a lot to another.
Whenever possible, we try to give those items another life through donation, reuse or recycling instead of simply taking everything to the landfill. My daughters even started looking forward to those days. They wanted to ride along and see that the things we picked up were going somewhere they could be useful to another family.
That experience helped shape what I want NightCrew to become.
Whether we're helping someone reclaim their garage, clearing out a property, or providing doorstep trash valet for an apartment community, I want us to remember that there are real people on the other side of every job.
NightCrew may have started because my family needed a new beginning. We're building it by treating the families and communities we serve like our own.
